Terms of Sale.
These terms apply to paid plugins you buy from Sebsoft through the Moodle™ Marketplace: what you are buying, how long a subscription runs, and how refunds and support work.

What these terms cover
These Terms of Sale cover one thing: paid plugins you buy from Sebsoft B.V. through the Moodle Marketplace. They do not cover our free plugins, which you simply use under the GPL, and they do not cover hosting, plugin development, integrations or any other work we agree with you separately. Our general terms and conditions cover that.
Completing a purchase in the Marketplace means you accept these terms.
Who you are buying from
You buy from Sebsoft. Moodle Pty Ltd runs the Marketplace, but is not a party to your purchase: we deliver, we support, we invoice and we handle refunds.

What you are buying
Our plugins are free software, licensed under the GNU General Public License version 3 or later. That licence lets you run, study, modify and redistribute the code, and nothing on this page takes any of it away.
A paid subscription is therefore not permission to use the code. It buys you three things:
- access to the official builds we publish through the Moodle Marketplace;
- updates for as long as the subscription runs, including security fixes and support for new Moodle releases;
- support from the people who wrote the plugin.
One subscription covers one production site
A subscription covers a single production Moodle site. You may run the same plugin on test, staging and development copies of that site at no extra cost. A second production site needs a second subscription.
Price, tax and payment
Prices are shown in US dollars on the listing and exclude VAT and any other sales tax. Payment runs through Stripe inside the Marketplace, so we never see your card details.
Sebsoft invoices you and remits the tax. Which rate applies depends on where you are and whether you buy as a business or as a consumer. Business buyers elsewhere in the European Union can supply a valid VAT identification number, in which case VAT is reverse charged; without a valid number we charge VAT at the applicable rate. Buyers outside the EU pay no Dutch VAT, but may owe tax in their own country.
Term, renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions run for twelve months and renew automatically for another twelve unless you cancel. You cancel through the subscription controls in the Moodle Marketplace, any time before the renewal date. Cancelling stops the next payment and leaves the period you already paid for untouched. If you buy as a consumer, you can also cancel a period that renewed automatically at any point during that period, with at most one month of notice.
When a subscription ends, the plugin keeps working. The GPL still applies, so you may keep using the last version you received for as long as you want. What stops is access to new builds and support.
Refunds
When you buy a plugin through the Marketplace for the first time, you can ask for a full refund within fourteen days, for any reason at all. Email helpdesk@sebsoft.nl with your order reference and we refund to the original payment method, normally within ten business days.
Those fourteen days are there so you can try the plugin in your own environment, so they apply once. We do not refund a renewal, and we do not refund the remainder of a term. You can head off a renewal by cancelling in the Marketplace before the renewal date.
If you buy as a consumer, none of this limits the statutory rights you have where you live.
Support
Support runs by email through helpdesk@sebsoft.nl, in English and in Dutch. We try to be back to you within two business days. How long a fix then takes depends on the problem, so we do not put a number on that, and a Marketplace purchase does not come with a service level agreement.
Support covers installation, configuration and defects in the plugin itself. It does not cover:
- custom development or changes to the plugin for your situation;
- copies of the plugin that you or a third party have modified;
- conflicts with other plugins, themes or server configuration; we help you pin the cause down, but resolving it is separate work;
- your Moodle environment, hosting or upgrades in general.
We are glad to quote for any of that separately.
Updates and compatibility
Each listing names the Moodle versions the plugin supports. During your subscription you receive updates for those versions, security fixes included. We cannot promise support for a future Moodle release before that release exists, and we do not support copies of the plugin that have been modified.
What we expect from you
Your Moodle environment stays your responsibility. Take a backup before you install or update, try it on a copy first, and stay within the Moodle and PHP versions the listing names. How you use the plugin has to fit the law that applies to you, privacy law in particular.
No warranty, limited liability
The plugin is provided as is. We put real work into the code, but we cannot promise that it is free of defects or that it runs without interruption in every environment.
Our liability towards you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the event, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss such as lost data, lost revenue or lost profit. None of this limits our liability for intent or deliberate recklessness, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
Personal data
For a Marketplace purchase we receive your name, company details, email address, country and tax identification from Moodle and Stripe. We use them to invoice you, to support you and to meet our tax obligations. Our privacy policy has the details.
Our name, and Moodle's
The GPL covers our code. It does not cover the Sebsoft name or logo. Moodle is a registered trademark of Moodle Pty Ltd, and Sebsoft is an independent company, not Moodle Pty Ltd.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. A change applies to purchases and renewals made after we publish it, never to a period you have already paid for. The date at the bottom of this page tells you which version you are reading.
Applicable law
Dutch law applies. Disputes go to the competent court in the district of Zeeland-West-Brabant, the Netherlands. If you buy as a consumer, you keep the mandatory protection of your own country and can bring a case before your own courts.
If you are also a Sebsoft customer
Plenty of buyers already have a contract with us for hosting or development work. That changes nothing here: for anything about your Marketplace purchase, these Terms of Sale come first, and our general terms and conditions keep governing the work we agreed separately.
If you obtain the plugin directly from us rather than through the Marketplace, these Terms of Sale do not apply. What was agreed about price, updates, support and refunds is then set out in your own contract with us.
