Spam policy.
The policy of Sebsoft B.V. regarding spam, UBE and UCE on the network.
No obligation · personal technical advice · independent Moodle™ specialist since 2004
Why a spam policy?
Senders of Unsolicited Bulk Email (UBE) and Unsolicited Commercial Email (UCE) can, at little cost to themselves, cause significant disruption and high costs for recipients: bandwidth, additional IP infrastructure, spam filtering infrastructure, and associated maintenance.
Sebsoft believes these costs should not be imposed on internet users. Eliminating spam leads to a better and more affordable internet.
The policy
- Customers are prohibited from sending spam to any internet user via the Sebsoft network.
- Customers may not connect an insufficiently secured mail server to the Sebsoft network. Relaying is explicitly prohibited.
- Bulk email is permitted when using a verified opt-in system. Mailings where recipients have not authorised the sender will be treated as spam.
- Spam complaints must be submitted by email and must include a full copy with original headers. After verification, the customer receives an official warning (FTO). If no corrective action is taken within 24 hours, Sebsoft reserves the right to remove the assigned IP addresses or website from the internet.
- Further verified complaints against an FTO customer will lead to DNS record removal for a minimum of 48 hours and STO (Second Time Offender) status. Sebsoft reserves the right to terminate the service without compensation.
- Customers who violate the policy a third time (TTO) are always irrevocably terminated without compensation.
